The PE Weather Office is warning of extremely hot temperatures in places over the western parts of the Eastern Cape.
Spokesperson Hugh van Niekerk says an upper high-pressure system will dominate on Saturday with the temperatures reaching the high 30's and low to mid 40's in places.
He says shade temperatures are expected to reach at least 38°C in places over Sarah Baartman District Municipality and Ngqushwa and Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipalities.
Van Niekerk says apparent temperatures due to the humidity will reach between 40 and 45°C along the coast and 46° to 50 degrees over the adjacent interior.
Not a single town or city in the Eastern Cape will be below 34 degrees on Saturday.
The SA Weather service also expressed their concern over weekend school activities which should be cancelled if the discomfort levels are too high.
