Some welcome rain fell over parts of the drought-stricken Eastern Cape over the past 24 hours.
The PE branch of the SA Weather Service says that while 15 millimetres was measured at the city's airport, other areas received above 25 millimetres overnight.
Weather office spokesperson, Garth Sampson says over the city's main catchment area between 13 and 30 mm was measured
Other noteworthy figures were Plettenberg Bay at 34.6 mm and George at 29.4 mm
He says the drought-ravaged area of Graaff- Reinet only had 6.2 mm and areas around Adelaide had 8 mm.
