Drought-stricken areas of the Eastern Cape can expect some temporary relief this weekend.
Garth Sampson at the PE Branch of the SA weather service says according to their current data, Sunday will see a 60% chance of rain over the Western Half of the Eastern Cape, which will include the interior and drought-stricken areas of Adelaide and Bedford.
Showers of greater than 20mm are expected over the southern coastal areas and adjacent interior which will include the catchment areas in the Langkloof.
Sampson says some much-needed thunderstorms are expected over the northern parts of the province, which will include Graaff-Reinet, however, rain over the Eastern parts of the province will be less significant.
Strong winds are also expected over these northern parts with snow expected over the Drakensberg.
Sampson says the long term forecast till December does not look promising.

Joubertina: 24.2 mm
Kareedouw: 18 mm
