Residents of Nelson Mandela Bay can look forward to some nice rainfall over the next three days with up to 20 mm expected over the Metro's main catchment areas.
A spokesperson for the SA Weather office in PE Garth Sampson says along the Garden Route between 40 and 60 mm are expected.
He says in the former Transkei area the rainfall figures could exceed 70 mm.
La Niña
Meanwhile, Chief economist at the Agricultural Business Chamber of South Africa, Agbiz, Wandile Sihlobo, says that the Australian Bureau of Meteorology once again confirmed its view of a La Niña occurrence from this year until at least February or March 2021.
This indicates higher rainfall which may translate to a potentially good agricultural season in South Africa.
However, Sihlobo says other regions in the world could experience the opposite.
He says the La Lina raises the risk of yet another poor agricultural harvest for East African countries such as Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia and that they will likely still depend on maize imports in the 2021/22 marketing year.
