Cloudy with a chance of showers this weekend


Several parts of Algoa Country will remain cloudy with showers expected south of the escarpment until Saturday.

A spokesperson for SA Weather in Port Elizabeth Garh Sampson says some heavy showers can be expected along the coast from Plettenberg Bay to Port Alfred overnight until Saturday morning.

He says localized flooding is possible in places.

Sampson says light snow is also possible over the Sneeuberg and Winterberg mountains.

Light snow is possible over the Sneeuberg and Winterberg mountains with good rain expected south of the Darlington Dam.

No warnings or advisories are issued.

Meanwhile, the level of Nelson Mandela Bay's (NMB) main supply dams has inched upwards following the good rains which fell in the main catchment area in the Langkloof last weekend.

According to the latest figures released by the municipality on Friday, NMB's four main supply dams are currently at 18.78% of total combined capacity, up from Monday's reading of 18.48%

The largest of the supply dams, the Kouga, is at 8.27%, the Churchill at 53.04% and the Impofu at 18.66%

The Groendal Dam which serves the Uitenhage area is at 25.41% of capacity.
