Under-fire Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel found an ally in fellow German Boris Becker yesterday with the tennis legend defending his compatriot's controversial Malaysian Grand Prix win.
Vettel defied team orders by over-taking Red Bull teammate Mark Webber to snatch victory at Sepang in a move widely-condemned from within and outside the sport.
But Becker sprang to Vettel's defence, describing his actions as the mark of a true champion.
Webber finished second and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the podium for Mercedes.
