Compleat Golfer magazine hosted the 22nd edition of its Annual Awards Dinner at Country Club Johannesburg on Monday night, celebrating the achievers of 2013 from the golfing industry of South Africa.
Mossel Bay's Lee-Ann Pace, a multiple winner on the Ladies European Tour, and recent Sunshine Ladies tour winner, was named the magazine's golfer of the year.
Former US Senior Open champion Simon Hobday received the Contribution to Golf award in recognition of his services to golf in Southern Africa, where he won six times on the Sunshine Tour, including the 1971 South African Open.
Rising star Dawie van der Walt collected the Volvo Mover of the Year award in recognition of his climb up the World Ranking.
Van der Walt started 2013 ranked 436th in the world, but wins in the Tshwane Open and Nelson Mandela Championship saw him move up to 174th.
