Jaco Van Zyl survived Hennie Otto final round 62 to win the inaugural Investec Cup at Sun City yesterday.
Van Zyl made a birdie at the last for a closing 68 to tie Otto at 21-under par.
He followed that up with a four footer for par on the first playoff hole and then watched in disbelief as Otto missed his par attempt from just three foot.
Not only did Van Zyl win his third title of the Sunshine Tour summer - he also earned an additional 2-million rand bonus for winning the Investec Cup points competition, which started in October last year.
Meanwhile: Tiger Woods's bid to regain the world No. 1 ranking with an eighth Bay Hill title was put on hold when a severe storm forced the final round finish to be pushed over to today.
Woods and playing partner Rickie Fowler had just completed the second hole when the horns blew to stop play.
Woods's birdie at the par-three second at Arnold Palmer's course in Orlando, Florida, put him 12-under for the tournament and stretched his lead to three strokes.
