Proteas batsman, Faf du Plessis, has stressed the importance of adapting to the change of conditions at St George’s Park for the second Sunfoil Test match against the West Indies starting on Friday.
The conditions in Port Elizabeth are traditionally slower and drier, compared to the sporting kind experienced in Centurion.
Faf says the most importance aspect of their game that they will need to work hard on, is patience, adding that conditions like this will probably bring the West Indies more into the game.
The Proteas are wary of a West Indies backlash, particularly at a venue where the tourists achieved their only Test win in South Africa, a 128-run win back in 2007.
News from the dressing room, is that Imran Tahir has been named as the replacement for the injured Robin Peterson, who was struck on the left index finger while fielding a ball during training on Tuesday morning, and received stitches to the finger.
