Springbok team to face Ireland in Durban unchanged

Springbok head coach Rassie Erasmus will be sending out the team from last week to finish the job when they take on Ireland in the second Castle Lager Incoming Test match in Durban on Saturday.

Saturday's game will be particularly special for Damian de Allende and Jessie Kriel as they become the most capped centre pairing in South Africa's history as they pair for the 30th time in tests.

Like last week, Erasmus has gone for a 6-2 split and said he anticipates that the game will be even tougher than last week as the Irish will be looking to correct their mistakes.

Erasmus said on Tuesday, during the squad announcement, that he was pleased with the youngsters' performance of last week and expects them to feel even more settled when they take to the field this weekend.

"They all made a strong impact off the bench and they have immense potential as individuals," said Erasmus.

"They'll definitely become more confident and settled the more they play."

Erasmus said the Irish are a proud team and nation and they'll be disappointed that they were unable to capitalise on a few opportunities last week close to our try-line, so they will work hard this week to fix their mistakes and ensure that they convert their chances into points.

"There is also the other important matter of them of trying to draw the series, while we would be delighted to win both matches - which will fuel their motivation - so it is going to be another spectacle of top-class rugby."
