Sport enthusiasts will be happy to hear that the South African flag will be able to wave in all its glory when the Springboks face France in their quarter-final clash of the Rugby World Cup.
This was after South Africa failed to comply with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The country was given a deadline to comply by Friday or face sanctions that could result in a ban on our national flag and anthem.
With the Boks and the Proteas currently representing the country on the international stage, this would have been an enormous embarrassment, especially for the Springboks, who are the defending world champions.
Minister of Sport Zizi Kodwa says they have now taken the matter on appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland resulting in the allegations of non-compliance being put on hold.
He says SA is disputing the non-compliance and felt that the sanctions were not fair.
WADA received the appeal papers on Tuesday and confirmed that the consequences will not apply until CAS makes a ruling.
Meanwhile, Bok coaches are still undecided about their team selection for Sunday's game and will announce their team on Friday.
The Proteas, who started their Cricket World Cup campaign in spectacular fashion will face Australia on Thursday.
