The Steval Pumas clinched the Absa Currie Cup First Division title in fine style with a 53-30 (halftime 19-9) win over the EP Kings in the final at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
The Pumas were full value for their win as they ran in six tries to three as they continued their wonderful form to end the Currie Cup season unbeaten after winning all their matches during the league phase of the competition.
The hosts pocketed R1 million for winning the First Division while they also secured their place in the promotion/relegation series for a chance to play in the Premier Division next season.

The round-robin stages of the Absa Currie Cup Premier Division this weekend reached an exciting conclusion, as DHL Western Province maintained their unbeaten run to retain the No1 spot on the log, while the Toyota Free State Cheetahs and MTN Golden Lions secured their semifinal berths.
DHL Western Province will host the MTN Golden Lions in the first semifinal in Cape Town on Saturday, while The Sharks will meet the Toyota Free State Cheetahs in Durban in the other pay-off match.
