The 5-kilometre Color Run is coming to Africa and the NMMU Nature Reserve in Port Elizabeth will host the first edition on Spring Day - 1 September.
Algoa FM Sport caught up with event organiser Tiago Pereira in Portugal on Thursday.
"It's a new concept where it's a non-timed race. Participants have to complete 5-kilometre wearing a white t-shirt. We have four colour stations at each kilometer, at each colour station there is a particular colour and in the end everyone looks like a rainbow." says Pereira
Pereira says Nelson Mandela Bay was chosen because of its fun-loving people.
"We want to show all South Africa that Port Elizabeth can host a huge event like this. The purpose of the race is to run, to be happy, to be healthy and to be you. It's almost an excuse for you to be like a child for example.
AlgoaFM has come on board as the official media and music partner.
Entry forms are available at leading sports stores or on the website www.thecolorrun.co.za.
