SA Football Association President Danny Jordaan has announced that Bafana Bafana head coach Gordon Igesund's 2-year contract will not be renewed when it ends on the 30th of August this year.
Jordaan made the announcement in Johannesburg on Monday afternoon, shortly after Bafana returned from Australasia where they drew international friendlies one-all with Australia and nil-all with New Zealand.
Jordaan said Igesund had been given the opportunity to make a detailed presentation on all his matches in charge of Bafana, but that the Board had decided not to extend his contract.
Jordaan said one of the key criteria that Igesund had not achieved was taking Bafana to the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
He said the process of finding a new coach would begin immediately and that the suitable candidate would be required to restore Bafana to its former glory.
This would include qualifying the team for the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco in 2015 and the World Cup in Russia in 2018.
