A 33 year-old woman and a 39 year old woman have been arrested in a bucks-for-jobs scam in Mthatha.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela says the couple had come from East London and were promising people jobs for cash.
In return, the unsuspecting victims were given what appeared to be authentic receipts confirming their employment.
Fatyela says the couple were arrested yesterday and a sizeable amount of money was recovered.
The couple will appear in the Mthatha Magistrate's court on Monday on fraud-related charges.
