The Eastern Province Rugby Union has accepted the resignation of another two officials implicated in the submitting of fraudulent invoices.
EPRU President Andre Rademan refused to sign off on the invoices late last year, which could have cost the Union hundreds of thousands of rands.
Rademan confirmed to Algoa FM News that he had received and accepted the resignation letters of the Manager of Club Affairs, John Scheepers, and Club Affairs administrator Angelo Peters.
Both officials had been given a deadline of noon on Tuesday to motivate the Union why they should not be relieved of their duties.
The resignation of Peters and Scheepers follows hot on the heels of the resignation of controversial EPRU deputy president Bantwini Matika on Monday after he was also implicated in the scam.
Following Matika’s resignation, Rademan confirmed that a criminal case was pending and that the EPRU had asked retired Judge Lex Mpati to lead the investigation into the matter.
Rademan told Algoa FM News on Wednesday that the EPRU executive would now decide on the way forward.
Matika courted controversy last year when he called former Springbok coach Nick Mallett a racist after Mallett was asked to serve on the committee that would select the next Southern Kings head coach.
Mallett subsequently withdrew from that selection process.
