Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on Wednesday that former Warriors head coach Malibongwe Maketa has been appointed the Proteas interim head coach for South Africa's upcoming three-match Test tour of Australia.
Mark Boucher ends his tenure with the Proteas at the conclusion of the T20 World Cup
Maketa is currently the South Africa A head coach and National Academy Lead.
He will take charge of the Proteas Test squad from December until early January in their penultimate series of the ICC World Test Championship.
South Africa find themselves placed second on the table behind Australia following two series wins, one loss and one draw in the second cycle of the World Test Championship.
