THE Board of Directors of Cricket South Africa has exercised its step-in rights into the affairs of Eastern Province Cricket with immediate effect.
CSA spokesman Michael Owen-Smith says it means that the EP cricket elections re-scheduled for a third time for Saturday 5 October will definitely NOT be taking place.
He told AlgoaFM sport that CSA would now be working with EP Cricket to find a suitable way forward with regards to the administration of the game in the region.
CSA Board Chairman Chris Nenzani said the Board was excercising its step-in rights as it was extremely concerned by recent events in Eastern Province Cricket regarding its financial management and the process followed regarding the election of office-bearers at this year's Annual General Meeting.
