Bullseye for Sidwell darts ace - World Cup awaits

Stefan Vermaak is the last man standing

Simon Adams: Ibhayi Darts Association

Stefan 'Phenomenal' Vermaak from Nelson Mandela Bay won the last man standing darts tournament in Cape Town at the weekend.

It was a qualifying tournament for the PDC World Cup of Darts which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany, in June this year.

18-year-old Sidwell resident Vermaak matriculated from Otto du Plessis High School last year and now finds himself in the SA team for Frankfurt alongside professional Devon Petersen.

Afer a gruelling round-robin stage in the qualifier, Stefan progessed through the round of 32 knock out stage to the final.

In the Championship match, the Ibhayi Darts Association member demolished Cape Town local Justin van der Westhuizen 7-0 to punch his ticket to Frankfurt.
