Bavuma laments ODI series loss to Bangladesh

@OfficialCSA

“We were just not good enough.”  Those were the words of a defeated South African ODI Captain, Temba Bavuma, following his side's nine-wicket loss to Bangladesh in the third and deciding Betway One Day International in Centurion.

The comprehensive victory also gave the visitors their first series win in South Africa.

Reflecting on the match Bavuma said Bangladesh was the better outfit and showed us how to play with the bat and ball.

“They showed how clinical they were. We were completely outplayed in the series,” said.

Bavuma said the loss was particularly disappointing following the Proteas series win against India at home.

A beaming Bangladesh captain, Tamim Iqbal, said post-match that he was “a very proud man,” paying tribute to his fast-bowlers and Taskin Ahmed, in particular, who was named man of the match and the series.

“This is massive. This is probably one of the biggest achievements of my career. It also gives us the belief that we can win on tour,” Iqbal said.
