Quinton de Kock (62) and Kyle Verreynne (58) led the charge for the Proteas in levelling the Betway ODI series against Bangladesh at the Imperial Wanderers on Sunday.
The batters were ably supported by the bowling performance of Kagiso Rabada who took five for 39 as the visitors were only able to muster 195 in their allotted 50 overs.
The seven-wicket win sets up the decider in Centurion on Wednesday.
The win also gives South Africa much-needed points in their bid to move into the top eight of the ICC’s ODI Super League which ensures automatic qualification for the next World Cup.
South Africa’s captain, Temba Bavuma, said that he was happy with his team’s resilience and their ability to bounce back from an early loss but added that he hadn’t yet put his finger on just why the Proteas often started a series badly.
