Bay Stars Football Club in Port Elizabeth will undergo a name change according to the SAFA statutes and will now be known as Morning Stars FC.
The club says in a statement that Morning Stars FC, owned by local football personality, Chippa Ngcolomba, has bought the Bay Stars Second Division status and will take up the challenge of winning promotion to the National First Division.
Although offers to purchase were received from other entities, it was a strategic decision to keep the club in Nelson Mandela Bay and hence the sale to Morning Stars.
Bay Stars Academy will continue to campaign in the SAB league to provide opportunities to young players and to also expose them to an academic pathway through their engagement with institutions of higher learning in the Metro.
