Zuma to launch bridge that will connect Mvezo to N2

 President Zuma will launch a R177m bridge and road that will link Nelson Mandela's birth village Mvezo to the N2 next week.

The Nelson Mandela Legacy Bridge and River Valley catalytic project has created 130 jobs for people in Mvezo and surrounding areas.

The project is an initiative by the departments of roads and public works and rural development.

Department of Rural Development and Land Reform's Sehloho Mphati says a brick manufacturing plant has been built and is fully operated by the youth of the rural area.

Mphati says the brick making plant will continue even when the project is completed.
