President Jacob Zuma is winging his way to Port Elizabeth along with the top-six leadership figures in the ANC.
They're expected in the city on Friday.
A senior municipal official told AlgoaFM News it was not a government visit, but purely an ANC follow-up meeting following a visit to the Metro in December.
Zuma is being accompanied by his leading executive members including deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa, secretary general Gwede Mantashe and deputy secretary general Jessie Duarte.
They'll be meeting at City Hall and are expected to discuss and announce decisions regarding changes to the regional leadership of the ANC in the Metro.
A follow-up meeting will take place at City Hall on Saturday where the leaders of all the ANC branch structures in Nelson Mandela Bay will be informed of the decisions expected to come out of the visit.
