A trial date will soon be set for the Port Elizabeth based pilot charged with culpable homicide, drunk, reckless and negligent driving.
The 31-year-old Kelvin Zirema, a Zimbabwean national, appeared briefly before the PE Magistrates Court on Monday.
Zirema is believed to have caused a horrific Beach Road accident in May this year, after the Audi A4 he was driving ploughed into two pedestrians, instantly killing a 36-year-old Nigerian national and causing a Zwide woman to lose her leg.
Zirema was previously denied bail, however, this ruling was overturned following an appeal from his defence attorney and prominent PE lawyer, Alwyn Griebenow.
He is expected back in court on the 1st of November.
