A cricket player at the University of the Free State, Nathan Roux, is responding well in the Intensive Care Unit of Mediclinic Bloemfontein, after suffering from a heart condition on Thursday afternoon.
The 21-year-old opening batsman for UFS I and the Free State Academy was rushed to hospital by his housemates after his heart stopped beating.
After repeated attempts, medical staff were able to get his heart functioning again.
He is being kept sedated and is on a ventilator.
His father, Chris Roux, a financial adviser from Komani, previously Queenstown in the Eastern Cape, travelled to Bloemfontein to be by his side and says by Saturday morning, things were looking positive and they believe he will make a full recovery.
