Eastern Cape police have arrested two men for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as dealing in drugs in two separate incidents in the Humansdorp Cluster.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli says police obtained a search warrant and pounced on a house in 7th Avenue, Humansdorp on Friday after receiving information that there were illicit drugs at the premises.
He says police recovered a .38 revolver with six rounds of ammunition, a 7.65mm pistol with one round of ammunition, eleven mandrax tablets, 10 small packets of cocaine, dagga and cash that was stashed in different areas in the house.
Police arrested 24-year-old Renwill Elroy Michaels, who appeared in the town's Magistrate’s Court later in the day.
The case was postponed to next Friday for further investigation and a bail application.
Nkohli says in the second incident on Friday, police received information about a house in Rosedale, Hankey where drugs were allegedly sold.
He says police confiscated a 7.65mm pistol with five rounds of ammunition, as well as dagga, tik and cash found inside the premises.
A 45-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear in the Hankey Magistrate's Court on Monday.
