A Port Elizabeth woman died after being hit by a car that was apparently ‘spinning’ in a street in Newton Park on Saturday night.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, identified the deceased as 19-year-old Megan Pretorius.
She said the young woman and a friend were standing opposite a nightclub in West Street when a white VW Golf drove past them.
“It is further alleged that the car was spinning and the driver lost control and hit two of the females. The injured women were transported to a hospital via ambulance.
Naidu said Pretorius “succumbed to her injuries” in hospital on Thursday.
“Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide,” she added.
