A 21-year-old Port Elizabeth man has been found guilty of murder in the city’s High Court.
Twenty-one-year-old Walter Williams was also convicted on Monday on three counts of attempted murder and two counts of the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The National Prosecuting Authority said he was a member of the Nice Time Bozzas “criminal gang” and committed the offences in Helenvale in December 2018.
NPA spokesperson, Anelisa Ngcakani, said Williams was arrested in January 2019 by the Anti-Gang Unit for the murder of Richard Stuurman and the attempted murder of two minors who were caught in the cross-fire of an earlier shooting.
She said sentencing proceedings will get underway on Wednesday.
