A young man from Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas is recovering in Livingstone Hospital after being shot in Ritchey Street in Helenvale Wednesday night in another suspected gang-related shooting.
Police spokesperson,Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the 20-year-old man was crossing a road when two men, whom he knows, started firing shooting at him.
She says the victim was hit in the arm and knee.
Janse Van Rensburg says police are invesitigating a case of attempted murder.
Meanwhile, a suspected gang leader was wounded and a man killed in a gang-related shooting in Schauderville on Tuesday night.
The same evening, the body of a man who had been shot in the head, was found in Bloemendal.
This brings the number of suspected gang-related murders in Port Elizabeth's Nothern Areas in the past week to nine.
