Humansdorp police have opened a murder docket after the body of a young man was found lying in the street in the early hours of Monday morning.
Sergeant Majola Nkohli says the victim had been shot.
He says that at around 2.30 am, police an anonymous call of a shooting in progress near Searle Street in Humansdorp.
At the scene, police found the lifeless body of an unknown man with several gunshot wounds to the upper body.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the victim who is believed to have been in his twenties.
He was wearing a pair of black trousers and a white t-shirt.
