Young man gunned down in PE's Jacksonville

Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a murder following a shooting incident in Kumasi Street in Jacksonville this morning.

Police Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says the 22-year-old Daniel Vaaltyn was shot just before 7am on Saturday morning and died on his way to hospital. 

She says Vaaltyn was known to the community and always ran errands for people or helped them with odd jobs.

Janse van Rensburg says the murder does not seem to be gang related and the motive is unknown.
