A 23-year-old man has been shot and killed by gunmen who opened fire on him in a car at Willow Dam in Uitenhage.
Police spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, said the shooting took place late on Sunday afternoon.
She said the young man was sitting with friends when two gunmen approached and fired several shots.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and was declared dead on the scene.
The motive for the shooting is not yet known.
Swart is appealing to anyone who may have information pertinent to the shooting to contact Uitenhage police on 041 996 3438, 10111 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
Police have since identified the victim.
