Eastern Cape police have arrested a 48-year-old man on eight counts of fraud in Mdantsane, East London.
The suspect, who was nabbed on Friday, was under investigation since 2018.
Police say he allegedly unlawfully and fraudulently sold people's houses that were not on the market for sale and cashed in on those false transactions in and around Mdantsane since 2016, but the victims never opened cases.
A lifestyle audit of the suspect will be conducted with the assistance of the Asset Forfeiture Unit.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate's Court soon on fraud charges.
