Young Communist League members march on Daily Dispatch

Members from the Young Communist League have marched on the Daily Dispatch newspaper in East London.

Provincial chairperson, Sithembele Zuka, says the media, including the Dispatch, are constantly focusing on the shortcomings of the ANC government and are ignoring positive developments, particularly in rural areas.

Dispatch editor, Bongani Siqoko, told Algoa FM News this week that they respect the YCL's right march.

AlgoaFM's Zona Mpendulo says about 100 Young Communist league members are taking part in the march.

The memorandum of understanding reveals that they are trying to save the Daily Dispach from being a 'daily disgrace', as they call it.

They say the newspaper should refrain from being a political organization opposing the ANC alliance.

They also ordered the newspaper to refrain from being used by other political parties.

Daily Dispatch editor, Bongani Siqoko is here signing the memorandum of understanding.

Earlier this week when they made the announcement that they would be marching, Siqoko showed no resistance.
