Two suspects arrested by Central Karoo police on Tuesday in connection with the rape of two minors, will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, says members of the Beaufort West police's Visible Policing and K-9 units, arrested the two, aged 17 and 20, for the alleged rape of 10-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy.
He says the girl suffered severe injuries and had to be hospitalised for further treatment.
Pojie says the suspects appeared in court in Beaufort-West on Thursday on charges of rape.
He says they were not asked to plead.
The 17-year old will be detained at Huis Outeniqua and the 20-year-old will be detained at the Beaufort-West Correctional Facility.
The case was postponed to 12 June for legal representation and to verify the accused's particulars.
