East London police are investigating the murder of a businessman who was shot dead in Vincent in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the incident happened at around 5.30 am in Frere Road.
She says when police arrived on the scene they found the 34-year-old businessman inside a black Mercedes Benz which had been riddled with bullet holes.
Naidu says the name of the deceased is being withheld until his next of kin has been informed.
A case of murder is under investigation.
Less than a week ago a 47-year-old taxi boss was gunned down in his car at the Mdantsane Highway taxi rank.
Six people were wounded in the incident.
Last week, on the Gonubie off-ramp, a senior official at Fort Hare University was gunned down in his car while on his way home.
He was identified as 60-year-old Petrus Roets.
