Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of reckless or negligent driving following a collision between a minibus taxi and a Toyota Hilux bakkie on Saturday night.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said the accident occurred on the corners of Cape Road and Papenkuil Road at around 17.30.
She said in a statement that the bakkie “allegedly made a U-turn in front of the taxi” which was traveling in the direction of Westering, resulting in both vehicles colliding and the minibus overturning.
Janse Van Rensburg said several passengers in the taxi were injured and taken to various hospitals.
“A case of Reckless or Negligent driving is under investigation,” she said.
