Yet another fatal dog attack this time in Port Alfred

A 37-year-old woman from Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape was mauled to death on Sunday morning while on her way to work.

A spokesperson for Police Colonel Priscilla Naidu says it is alleged that the woman was walking on Alfred Road when she was attacked.

She says two men who witnessed the attack ran to a nearby security office to report the incident.

Colonel Naidu said when police arrived on the scene the badly injured woman was lying on the side of the road.

She says the woman sustained severe injuries to her face and upper body and the dogs were nowhere to be found.

SAPS Port Alfred detectives are searching for the owner of the dogs.

The number and breed of the dogs are unknown at this stage and police believe that the two males who witnessed the incident can provide crucial information in the investigation.

In April a 38-year-old man was killed when he too was attacked by two Rottweilers on his way to work.

Khayalethu Bulo died a violent death and his family has since launched a civil claim.

If you have a tip-off please contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Yogan Reddy at 082 332 8794 or the nearest police station.
