Striking labour unions Nehawu and Nteu agreed to hold negotiations with the university's management and the department higher education for 3 days.
Meanwhile, a task team formed by among others UDM leader Bantu Holomisa awaits word from the president's office.
The task team sent a request to the president's office for Minister Collins Chabane on Monday to meet with university's management, labour and higher education to find a solution to the crisis.
Holomisa says they're hoping to hear from the president's office on Tuesday.
