Woodridge College will "bounce back" and is expected to re-open early next month after devastating fires destroyed about "50%" of the school.
The weekend run-away fires in the Thornhill district were brought under control by Sunday afternoon.
However, a farming couple, Maryna and Walter van der Riet, died after the fires destroyed their farm, Langlaagte.
Meanwhile, teachers and learners from Woodridge College gathered at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Monday for a briefing on the way forward.
School principal, Trevor von Berg, told Algoa FM that they "they will bounce back".
"The school will close until the 4th of July. During that time we are going to be getting temporary classrooms in, we want to get the internet networks up and running so that by the 4th of July when the children come back we'll be fully operational," he said.
Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal authorities said that Saturday's run-away fire had destroyed half the school.
Von Berg said that "a lot of the classrooms were still intact."
"The boarding houses are still intact bar the girls boading residence at the prep school. So, we do have enough facilities to continue operating within the next couple of weeks," he said.
He said the school "will definitely come back stronger".
Meanwhile, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality said that fires that flared up again on Monday were brought under control.
"Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Fire and Emergency continues to do damping down at Van Stadens Gorge.
Unfortunately this morning fires have flared up again in Schoenmakerskop (Seaview area) and Ellesrivier (close to Kouga Municipality border).
Both fires are under control for now," said spokesperson Mthubanzi Mniki.
"The Rocklands (near Uitenhage) area has been successfully extinguished. No road closures have been done so far," he said.
