A group of ANC Women's League members held a protest outside the Port Elizabeth's magistrate's court on Thursday.
That's where a suspect arrested in connection with the rape of a Johannesburg-based businesswoman in December 2010, went on trial.
The man faces charges of the rape of and theft from former Port Elizabeth woman, Andy Kawa.
On Wednesday she spoke publicly about her harrowing ordeal, in which she was gang-raped throughout the night after being accosted by several men on Kings Beach.
She was found the following day by two people jogging on the beach.
