Woman dies in J/Bay lagoon

A woman has died while swimming in the Kabeljous lagoon at Jeffreys Bay.

Kouga Municipality spokesperson, Laura-Leigh Randall, said the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.

She said the scene was attended to by Kouga lifeguards, the NSRI, SAPS and paramedics but the woman, believed to be about 30-year-old was declared dead on the scene.

Randall said the cause of death will be confirmed once the police report is finalised.

Her name has not yet been released.
