A woman and a nine-month old baby were killed following an accident on the N6 in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday morning.
The Deputy Director for Provincial Traffic Charles Bramwell says the woman was alone in her car with the baby when she lost control and rolled her vehicle.
Bramwell says the accident happened shortly before noon about 5 km outside Cathcart in the direction of Stutterheim.
The driver was declared dead on the scene while the baby was declared dead upon arrival at hospital.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
The names of the victims are being withheld until their next of kin have been informed. .
