People in the Eastern Cape woke up to icy conditions on Monday morning, as the province remains firmly in the grip of winter.
In Port Elizabeth, temperatures plummeted to 2.9 degrees Celcius, making it the coldest day in the city this year.
PE weather office spokesperson, Garth Sampson says the minimum temperature in Uitenhage was 1.8 degrees.
It was well below freezing in the interior, and -6.6 degrees was measured at Buffelsfontein weather station between Molteno and Dordrecht.
