A Wilderness couple has been granted bail after appearing in the George magistrate's court on weapons charges.
61 year-old Hendrick Langeveld and his 54 year old wife Gillian appeared in court on Monday and were granted bail of R2 500 rand and R5 000 respectively.
They're charged with the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition after an unlicensed 9mm pistol and ammunition of various calibres and two magazines with R-1 rounds were seized by police during a raid on their Wilderness home earlier this month.
Their passports were handed in and they are not allowed to make any contact with the state witnesses.
They are furthermore prohibited from visiting their house in Honeydew, Gauteng, where the first batch of weapons and ammunition were found by new tenants on Christmas Day.
The George-case was postponed to the 24th of March.
Last week, the Langevelds were granted bail of R10 000 and R5 000 in the Roodepoort Magistrates' court in connection with the raid at their Honeydew home.
That case has been postponed to the 14th of March.
