A 36 year old Port Elizabeth man is being held at the Humewood police station after a raid on his home in Upper Hill Street uncovered more than 60 dagga plants and other narcotics in the form of magic mushrooms.
Police captain Stanley Jarvis says the raid was carried out late on Monday afternoon by members of the Humewood drug task team, the crime intelligence gathering unit and the narcotics drugs unit following a long-term undercover investigation.
Jarvis says information from the public also proved very beneficial in affecting the arrest.
He said the suspect would face charges of cultivating and dealing in dagga and other narcotics and will appear in court this week..
