Wildcat strike continues in Nelson Mandela Bay

Hundreds of muncipal employees in Nelson Mandela Bay protested outside city hall on Thursday, the fourth day of a wild cat strike.

The employees are from the mucipalities library and traffic services, which ground to a halt earlier this week over a long standing pay dispute.

Just over two-hundred members of the Independent Muncipal and Allied Trade Union and the SA Municipal Workers Union are protesting about the same issues which relate to backpay and salary grading.

IMATU Chairperson, Chris Haye, says these workers will continue to protest because they know that promises of a four notch salary increase will not materialise.

Earlier this week, acting Executive Director of Corporate Services, Mod Ndoyana, said that all these issues would be dealt with on Friday
