The upward trend in the mohair market continued at the second sale of the 2013 winter season in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
The average market indicator gained three percent to close on R112.14 per kilogram.
Mohair South Africa said 98% of the more than 116 000 kilograms on offer was sold.
It says a highest price ever for winter kid mohair was also achieved on the sale, with a bale of super style 25 micron kid’s mohair selling for R400 per kilogram.
The next mohair sale takes place on the 17th of September.
