Dutywa police have made a breakthrough in the murder of a man who was found dead in his bedroom in Mabheleni Location, by arresting his 42-year-old wife.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha says she was arrested on Friday and two other men were arrested early on Saturday in the Dutywa area.
He says the 57-year-old man’s wife and a member of her family allegedly left him alone in his bedroom on Thursday evening to go and prepare dinner in the kitchen.
Manatha says when they came back, they found the deceased stabbed to death.
He says the wife screamed and the neighbours came to the house.
The man had been stabbed in the upper body, and the motive for the murder is still unclear.
The trio will appear in the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder.
